What to do when your pet has an accident on the carpet:

- The first thing you need to do is try to remove as much of the urine as possible. Take a cloth that will absorb as much of the urine as possible. You can use paper towels or cloth towels, place them on top of the urine and stomp on it until it absorbs as much urine as possible.
- We know pets are attracted to their urine smell, and other pets urine in general, placing these rags, and towels you used to absorb the urine in areas where you want them to go will help train them to not go in your home on your carpet.
- You can rinse the area with water. Cold water is fine, no need for it to be hot. Dry it as you scrub with a clean towel. You can try using a wet vacuum if it's too wet. When you wet the area try to use enough water to do the job but not so much that it's flooding the area.
- If you have cleaner in a spray bottle or some kind of disinfectant, spray it or pour it over the affected carpet. Using a chemical cleaner will help break down the urine smell.
- We do not recommend the use of things like pine or vinegar. These things sometimes leave stains and a strong odor. If the odor continues, give Neptune Carpet Cleaning a call.
